The Study Visits Exchange Programme enables the partnership to better understand other European regions experiences in terms of innovation and technology transfer (direct visits to technological parks, universities, labs, etc.), with the aim of sharing good practices and knowledge. The first ERIK network phase included five study visits in five different regions. Each visit welcomed the participation of an average of 20 participants. Numbers were limited to allow better interaction and focus.

The second ERIK network phase planned for 4 study visits, 1 for each Thematic Working Group. The location was decided on the basis of the good practices inserted into the ERIK database. The agenda of the study visit was decided by the Thematic Working Group coordinator in close coordination with the hosting region, in order to link the experiences and systems of the region with the needs of the network. The hosting region also provides logistic and know-how support to coming visitors. At the end of each visit, a study visit report was produced and published on the web site.
